Configuration menu

This tab contains 3 main parts, that are explained further below.

• The ribbon gives all controls to create, edit and parameterize a configuration

• Channels list: This is the list of all language channels. For each channel an audio routing can be chosen. When the routing not is “disabled”, it will appear on the channel selectors and relays, in the presented order.

• Booth channels: this is an editable list of all booths in the room with the channel next to it. It allows to allocate a channel from the channels list, directly to a specific booth.

About configurations

You can have multiple interpretation configurations. These are visible as different tabs under the application ribbon. A green dot next to the configuration name indicates if the configuration is Active. Each time you select a configuration, the configuration is loaded from the Plixus engine, which ensures that the all configurations are synchronized.

The “default” configuration is the configuration which you can create using the web server. You can also activate this configuration in the Interpreter application.

Edit configuration

In this section you can perform the following actions:

• Activate: click to activate the selected configuration. When you click activate, the configuration is automatically saved.
  When modifications are done on the active configuration, and that configuration is re-activated: the relays of the interpreters will not be overwritten with the desk configuration. The system only alters those relays and channels that are impacted by the modifications. This is to prevent that interpreters have to re-configure their relays when a small change was applied just before the meeting.

• Save: this saves the selected configuration.

• New: this creates a new configuration.
• Clone: this makes an exact copy of the configuration and all of its parameters with an automatically generated name.
• Delete configuration: this deletes the selected configuration.
• Change configuration name: click to change the name of the configuration. You ca also change the name by double-clicking the name of the configuration in the tab.

Channel configurations

In this section you can perform the following actions:

• Add channel: this adds a channel to the channel list. By default, the language is the next unassigned language from the My languages list. By default the routing is “Virtual”.
• Insert above: inserts a channel above the selected channel.
• Remove channel: removes the selected channel.

Desk configurations:

In this section you can perform the following actions:

• Apply to all desks in booth:Click to apply specific setting to all desks in the selected booth.

• Apply to all desks: The selected desk configuration is applied to all desks.

Advanced configurations

In this section you can perform the following actions:

• Show properties: shows or hides the configuration properties on the left side of the screen.
• Show desk configurations: shows or hides the desk configuration.

Protect configuration

There is an option to lock a configuration. This means that you cannot modify channels, properties and desk configurations of the locked configuration. All buttons are disabled or greyed out. You can only Activate the configuration, Clone, or unlock it.

• Lock: this will prompt the user to enter the correct password. The default password is: “televic”. When the password is correct, the configuration will be locked.
• Unlock: to unlock the configuration the password has to be entered.

Import/export:

In this section you can perform the following actions:

• Import: import JSON file exported from another or this Plixus system.
• Export: creates JSON files from the current interpreter configuration. This can be saved locally and imported on the same or a different Plixus engine.

Reset configuration

Click this button to reset the configuration and the Lingua Interpreter desks. When you click this button you will reset the interpreter desk and channel selectors.

Channels list

This is the main part of the configuration as it contains the channels / languages that are used during the meeting. The Channel section consists of the following columns:

• Order: the order of the channels. It is also the order CoCon uses in the audio application.
• Channel: the name of the channel. The channel needs to be present in the My Languages list before you can add it here.
• Display text:the text shown on the relays and the channel selectors. If desired, you can change this by clicking the text.
• Audio routing: the audio routing of each channel. There are several options:

• Disabled: this means that the channel is reserved in the audio routing matrix with the channel ID matching the order, but it is not part of the channel list and consequently not available in the room (the channel selectors and/or relays).
• Booth x: a booth is added to this channel. The audio is coming from a specific booth.
• Virtual: this means the channel is available in the room, and accessible for interpreters on their B/C channel. However there is no booth assigned with this language on its A – channel.
• External: the channel is reserved in the audio routing matrix and audio can be routed from an external source onto that outgoing channel. However, the configured backup channels of that outgoing channel are disabled.

• Recorded: for each channel the recording indication can be activated. On the Lingua ID, recording indicators (red dots) are shown on the outgoing channel.

Booth channels

This list shows all booths of the room. The channels column allows to select a language which is in the Channels list. When the language list is restricted to a specific number, this is a quicker way of configuring the interpreter booths. It is possible to use the same A channel in different booths.

Properties

Display the properties by clicking Show properties in the ribbon. On the left side of the screen the properties appear. The following properties are available:

• Name: the name of the configuration
• Description: an optional description
• Mode between booths: the microphone mode used between different booths. There are 3 modes:

• Mixed: 2 desks from a different booth can speak at the same time. The microphone LED ring will blink to indicate this.
• Override: only 1 booth can be active at the same time. When another booths activates the B channel, it will override the current activated microphone(s) from the A-channel booth.
• Lock on A, override on B: When a non-A-channel booth is speaking on a channel, the A-channel booth can take over the microphone. However, a non-A-channel booth cannot take over the microphone when the A-channel booth is active.

• Mode between desks: this is the microphone mode used between desks of the same booth

• Mixed: 2 desks in the same booth can speak at the same time. The microphone LED ring will blink to indicated this.
• Override: only 1 desk in the same booth can speak at the same time. When a second desk activates the microphone it will take over the channel.

• Multiple channel activated: when this option is activated, it is possible to speak on 2 different channels at the same time in the same booth.

• Audience indication: in the monitoring an indication is shown of the number of units (Lingua ID or channel selectors) that have selected a specific channel.
• Audience indication update interval: this is the number of seconds between 2 polls. The advised value is between 30 and 60.

Desk configuration

To view the desk properties click the Desk configuration button in the ribbon. On the right side of the screen the properties appear.

For each booth, the desks are shown in rows. Each relay can be predefined. Additionally, when selecting B and C channel column, it is possible to restrict the Allowed Output channels. This means that you can restrict the B and C channels to only show the A channel language.

In the column of B channel / C channel it is possible to pre-set the language for B and C channels.
